WTT : Fan Zhendong et Ma Long forfaits pour les finales

Les deux géants du tennis de table chinois, Fan Zhendong et Ma Long, ne participeront pas aux finales du circuit WTT qui se dérouleront à Fukuoka, au Japon, du 20 au 24 novembre.

Fan Zhendong, champion olympique en titre, et Ma Long, double champion olympique, ont décidé de se retirer de cette compétition de fin d’année, laissant place à d’autres talents internationaux. L’Allemand Benedikt Duda et le Suédois Anton Kallberg prendront leur place en tant que remplaçants.

Félix Lebrun, le jeune prodige français classé 4e mondial, héritera de la tête de série n° 3 dans cette compétition. Bien que les deux stars chinoises fassent défaut, le tournoi reste très relevé avec la présence d’autres joueurs chinois, tels que Wang Chuqin, n° 1 mondial, et Lin Shidong, qui connaît une ascension fulgurante. Chez les femmes, la championne olympique Chen Meng a également déclaré forfait, remplacée par la Roumaine Bernadette Szocs. Ces absences marquent un tournant dans le circuit WTT et ouvrent la voie à de nouvelles confrontations passionnantes.
