Mondiaux de Ski-alpin : Stephanie Venier championne du monde de super-G

Stephanie Venier a remporté le super-G des Mondiaux de Saalbach, en Autriche. Elle devance l’Italienne Federica Brignone, et un duo composé de l’Américaine Lauren Macuga et de la Norvégienne Kasja Vickhoff Lie.

Les spectateurs qui avaient rempli les tribunes de Saalbach peuvent exulter. L’Autrichienne Stephanie Venier a remporté son tout premier titre mondial à domicile en dominant le Super G. Elle termine devant l’Italienne Federica Brignone (+ 0 »10). Comme lors des mondiaux précédents en 2023, le podium est complété par un duo ayant effectué le même chrono : l’Américaine Lauren Macuga et la Norvégienne Kasja Vickhoff Lie, qui sont toutes deux arrivées avec 24 centièmes de retard.

Ce n’est en revanche pas la première médaille pour Venier puisqu’elle avait remporté l’argent en 2017 à Saint-Moritz (Suisse).

Pour ses 9e et derniers mondiaux, la légende Lindsey Vonn n’a rien pu faire, alors qu’elle était malade depuis quelques jours. L’Américaine a accroché une porte avec son bras droit en début de parcours avant de tomber. Elle a tout de même pu descendre à ski en bas de la piste afin de saluer le public.
