Artemis Racing s’impose à Toulon

L’équipe suédoise Artemis Racing a remporté dimanche les America’s Cup World Series (ACWS) de Toulon, régates préliminaires à la Cup 2017, Groupama Team France prenant la 4e place.

Artemis Racing (Nathan Outteridge) n’a pas dominé les trois courses de dimanche (comptant double) comme il l’avait fait la veille (2 victoires) mais a tout de même gagné la première manche, Land Rover BAR (Ben Ainslie) s’adjugeant la 2e et SoftBank Team Japan (Dean Barker) la 3e et dernière. Les régates se sont déroulées avec des vents mollassons de 5-6 noeuds.

Groupama Team France (Franck Cammas) a longtemps été en tête de la dernière course de dimanche, ne se faisant passer par SoftBank Team Japan et Emirates Team New Zealand (Glenn Ashby) que dans les dernières centaines de mètres.

Au classement général provisoire des ACWS, à une étape de la fin (Fukuoka, au Japon, du 18 au 20 novembre), Land Rover BAR est toujours en tête, devant le defender américain Oracle Team USA (Tom Slingsby/Jimmy Spithill), Emirates Team New Zealand, SoftBank Team Japan, Artemis Racing et Groupama Team France.
