LOSC : une nouvelle recrue américaine arrive (off.)

Dans les tuyaux depuis plusieurs jours Timothy Weah s’engage avec le LOSC. L’attaquant américain arrive en provenance du Paris Saint-Germain.

 

Lille prépare la succession de Nicolas Pépé. Dauphin du Paris Saint-Germain en 2018-2019, la formation nordiste a confirmé l’arrivée de Timothy Weah, en provenance du club de la capitale. L’international américain de 19 ans a signé un bail de cinq ans, soit jusqu’en juin 2024, avec le LOSC. Alors qu’il était sous contrat jusqu’en 2021 avec le PSG, le fils de George Weah débarque dans le Nord pour un montant estimé à 10 millions d’euros.

« Pour moi, le LOSC est le meilleur choix possible pour progresser et gagner du temps de jeu. C’est une équipe jeune et ambitieuse : je sais que Christophe Galtier et son staff sont très professionnels et appréciés par les joueurs, a-t-il réagi. Rejoindre le LOSC, ça n’est pas rien puisque cette équipe a réalisé une superbe saison l’an dernier car une deuxième place, c’est une performance énorme : jouer la Champions League est d’ailleurs un rêve que je vais pouvoir réaliser. J’ai hâte de marquer des buts sous mes nouvelles couleurs et d’aider ce club à remporter des matchs et pourquoi pas des trophées ! » 

En janvier dernier, Timothy Weah avait été prêté au Celtic Glasgow. « Nous sommes vraiment ravis d’avoir fait signer Timothy Weah. De nombreux très bons clubs le courtisaient et Timothy a choisi notre proposition et le projet du LOSC. On le remercie, lui et son entourage, pour sa décision, a confié le directeur général Marc Ingla. Il dispose de qualités techniques et mentales impressionnantes pour son jeune âge. C’est un attaquant très prometteur, très mature aussi avec déjà une expérience et un palmarès intéressants. Nous avons l’impression que notre projet correspond bien à ses caractéristiques et à sa personnalité. »
