Euroligue : Débuts manqués pour l’ASVEL qui s’écroule face au Maccabi Tel-Aviv

Défaite amère 89-82 pour l’Asvel à l’occasion de son entrée en Euroligue jeudi soir sur le parquet du Maccabi Tel-Aviv, après avoir mené la majeure partie de la deuxième mi-temps.

Bien en place pendant une grande partie de la rencontre, les hommes de Pierric Poupet se sont effondrés dans les quatre dernières minutes, incapables de marquer pendant ce laps de temps crucial. L’international français Jaylen Hoard a été déterminant pour Tel-Aviv avec deux dunks sur alley-oops de Tamir Blatt, qui a signé un impressionnant double-double (21 points, 12 passes), scellant la victoire du Maccabi.

Le tournant du match est intervenu après un panier décisif de John DiBartolomeo qui a redonné l’avantage aux Israéliens (83-82), avant que l’Asvel ne s’écroule complètement. Villeurbanne tentera de rebondir la semaine prochaine contre la Virtus Bologne à domicile, tandis que le Maccabi affrontera Monaco, victorieux face à Milan.
