NBA – Les Pélicans se séparent de leur entraîneur Alvin Gentry

Alvin Gentry, entraîneur des Pelicans qui ne sont pas parvenus à se qualifier pour les play-offs de la NBA, a été démi de ses fonctions après cinq saisons passées à ce poste.

« Je suis reconnaissant et j’apprécie l’engagement d’Alvin auprès du club. Mais nous pensons que le moment est venu de faire un changement« , a déclaré le manager général David Griffin. « Notre intention est de trouver le bon entraîneur qui guidera cette équipe et la rendra compétitive pour le championnat. C’est ce que nos fans méritent« , a de son côté ajouté son propriétaire Gayle Benson.  

Gentry, nommé le 30 mai 2015, quitte donc le club cinq ans plus tard, avec un bilan en saisons régulières de 175 victoires contre 225 défaites.
